2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this website (alcymi.com), in particular when you sign up to become a beta tester ("Alcymist").
It does not cover data processed inside the Alcymi app. If you are accepted into the beta, you will receive a separate privacy notice and consent form covering the data you create in the app.
3. What we collect, and why
When you fill in the signup form, we collect the name and email address you provide.
We use this only to:
contact you about beta access and manage the beta tester circle;
send you occasional updates related to the beta.
We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Like most websites, our host also automatically records standard technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) and may set cookies needed to operate the site. See "Cookies" below.
4. On what legal basis
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) — and, for visitors in the EU/EEA, the GDPR — we process your name and email on the basis of your consent, which you give when you voluntarily submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights").
5. Who processes your data, and where
Our website and signup form are hosted by Squarespace (Squarespace Ireland Ltd. and Squarespace, Inc., USA), which stores the form data on our behalf. As a result, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States.
The Swiss Federal Council recognises the United States as providing an adequate level of data protection for recipients certified under the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). We rely on Squarespace's DPF certification and/or its Data Processing Addendum and Standard Contractual Clauses for this transfer.
We use Formspree (Formspree, Inc., USA) to receive and store the name and email you submit when signing up as a beta tester. Formspree processes this data on our behalf, only to deliver your submission to us, and does not use it for its own purposes. As Formspree is based in the United States, your data may be stored there.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your name and email until the beta programme ends, or until you ask us to delete it whichever comes first.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
confirm what data we hold about you and give you a copy (access);
correct it if it is inaccurate;
delete it;
restrict or object to how we use it; and
withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email [founders@alcymi.com]. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch). If you are in the EU/EEA, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Cookies
Our website host sets cookies necessary to operate the site. If we enable analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy accordingly.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update shown above.
